Ballyturk to play at The Abbey Theatre, Dublin

Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival are delighted to announce that Ballyturk, written and directed by Enda Walsh, will play at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin, as part of the inaugural season by the new Directors of the Abbey, Graham McLaren and Neil Murray.  

This new production of Ballyturk is a Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival co-production in association with the Abbey Theatre, and stars Olwen Fouéré, Mikel Murfi and Tadhg Murphy.

Ballyturk premiered at GIAF to huge acclaim in 2014 and became the fastest selling show in the Festival’s history. Ballyturk made its UK premiere at the National Theatre of Great Britain in London where it was included in The Guardian’s Top 10 Theatre Shows of the Year. The show received multiple award nominations, and was awarded both Best Sound Design and Best Production at the Irish Times Theatre Awards in 2015.

Ballyturk sold out in Galway; Olympia performances now on sale

Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival are delighted to announce that Ballyturk, written and directed by Enda Walsh, has sold out for its Galway run.

Starring Cillian Murphy, Mikel Murfi and Stephen Rea, the production will have its world premiere at the Black Box Theatre in Galway on 14 July.  It became the fastest-selling show in Galway International Arts Festival history, and all tickets for the Galway run are now sold out.

The production will transfer to the Olympia Theatre in Dublin for 18 performances only, from 8 – 23 August, and to the Cork Opera House from 25 – 30 August 2014.

The production will then tour to the National Theatre in London, where it will play a five-week season at the Lyttelton Theatre.

Starring Cillian Murphy, Mikel Murfi and Stephen Rea, the production will then tour to the National Theatre in London, where it will play a five-week season at the Lyttelton Theatre.

Tickets for the world premiere of Ballyturk at the Black Box Theatre in Galway went on sale on 20 March, and the production quickly became the fastest-selling show in Galway Arts Festival history.  A limited number of tickets for the Galway performances remain; they can be bought online here.

Ballyturk to play a five-week season at the National Theatre, London

Landmark Productions and Galway Arts Festival are delighted to announce that Ballyturk, written and directed by Enda Walsh, will play a five-week season at the Lyttelton Theatre, as part of Nicholas Hytner’s final season as Artistic Director of the National Theatre in London.

Cillian Murphy, Mikel Murfi and Stephen Rea will join actors such as Simon Russell Beale in King Lear, Helen McCrory in Medea and Ralph Fiennes in Man and Superman, in a wide-ranging and ambitious season that includes new plays by Rona Munro, Tom Stoppard and David Hare.

Landmark Productions and Galway Arts Festival are delighted to announce the world premiere of a major new play, Ballyturk by Enda Walsh, the opening production of this year’s Galway Arts Festival.

The production promises to be one of the theatrical highlights of the year and reunites the creative team behind Enda Walsh’s Misterman.  The internationally-acclaimed play, co-produced by Landmark Productions and Galway Arts Festival, starred Cillian Murphy in a sensational solo performance.

Ballyturk marks Cillian Murphy’s return to the stage.  He will star alongside Walsh’s long-time collaborator Mikel Murfi, and the internationally-acclaimed film and theatre actor Stephen Rea.
